This is a very calm but at the same time tense film. Philippe Gerbier, the main character, is very complex. I think I personally like him because of his Mathematical personality: analytical, elegant, practical. Lino Ventura achieves to reflect those attributes in his manner to speak, in his movements and gestures.
These are just my first impressions but definitely a great film.
