Urkupiña in Bergamo

Most of you may have heard about the festivity of Urkupiña. It is one of the biggest cultural events in the city of Cochabamba. It happens around the 15th of August every year. Thousands of people walk from different sides of the city of Cochabamba or come from different parts of the country.

However, Urkupiña is so strong in its influence that there are now celebrations of it in different parts of the world. The following is from a friend who is in Bergamo, Italy, where one of the biggest Bolivian communities reside.

In the picture you will see a friend of mine dancing Caporales.
